Swivel binding mounts for sliding boards

width=434
The swivel binding mount is for use on a sliding board. It comprises a fixed member to be secured to the sliding board, a foot-receiving member to be pivotally connected to the sliding board by the fixed member. The mount comprises an adjustable angle restraining system limiting the pivoting of the foot-receiving member within a preselected range and a friction generator at least partially provided between the foot-receiving member and the fixed member to create an adjustable friction force between them.
The mount is well adapted for snowkiting or kitesurfing.

Adjustable boot-binding mount for snowboard

width=426
Entspricht Emery
An adjustable, rotatable boot-binding mount (20) includes a swivel plate (40) having threaded mounting holes (24) therein to which a conventional boot binding (60) or boot may be mounted. The swivel plate (40) is rotatably retained within a base plate (30) which is securely fastened to the top surface of a snowboard (10) or other recreational board. During normal use, the swivel plate (40) is automatically and continuously locked against rotation within the base plate (30), thereby securely maintaining the boot binding in a desired angular position relative to the snowboard. At other times, e.g., while standing in lift lines or riding a lift, a quick release mechanism (27, 48) allows the swivel plate to be temporarily unlocked so that a different angular position of the swivel plate (and hence a different angular position of the boot binding or boot) relative to the snowboard may be quickly and easily realized.

Dual-locking automatic positioning interface for a snowboard boot binding

width=449
ABSTRACT
A dual-locking rotational device with an escape mechanism for interface between a snowboard and the boot binding of a snowboarders forward foot is disclosed. The present invention makes possible automatic positioning and repositioning of a snowboarders forward foot boot binding from a transverse downhill position to a comfortable walking forward foot position and back again to the transverse downhill position. In particular, the present invention includes a swivel ring or disk (28) positioned between the boot binding frame (20) and the snowboard, and a locking mechanism (42) which engages with the swivel ring or disk (28), to allow the swivel ring or disk (28), and thus the boot binding frame (20) and the snowboarders forward foot, to move between the transverse downhill position and the comfortable walking forward foot position. The present invention further includes a swivel disk retainer ring or disk (74) for attaching the dual-locking rotating device to the top surface of the snowboard.

Snowboard rotatable binding conversion apparatus

width=541
ABSTRACT
A snowboard rotatable binding conversion apparatus that is inserted between and attaches to a snowboard (12) and a boot binding (60, 64) to render the boot binding (60, 64) rotatable in relation to the snowboard (12). The snowboard rotatable binding conversion apparatus includes a base (16), an engaging plate (40) which sandwiches the base (16) between he engaging plate (40) and a snowboard (12), a top plate (50) which sandwiches the engaging plate (40) between the top plate (50) and the base (16), an engaging element (30) which engages an engaging slot (42) in an engaging plate (40), an engaging bar (34) which movably secures the engaging element (30) to the base (16), a tension bar (32) that provides tension to the engaging element (30), a tether (38) attachable to the engaging element (30), and a plurality of screws (54, 48, 36) and screw-receiving holes (52, 20, 46, 35, 58) to attach the engaging bar (34) to the base (16), the engaging plate (40) to the snowboard (12), and the top plate (50) to the base (16)

Improved snowboard bindings

width=528
Disclosed is an improved rotatable snowboard binding mechanisms to allow a snowboarder to rotate the binding without having to release the boot from the binding. This can be done by simply pulling up on a tether attached to his leg. The device allows for a large variety of different boot bindings to be attached, allowing the snowboarder to choose among the boot bindings present in the commercial marketplace. The device is easy to manufacture with a relatively limited number of parts, and can be attached with commonly available tools.

Rotation mechanism for a snowboard binding

width=588
ABSTRACT
The invention relates to a rotation mechanism (21) for turning a binding (16) of a snowboard, with a base plate (22), and with a receiving plate (32) for the binding (16), wherein the receiving plate (32) is rotatable about a rotation axis (24) relative to the base plate (22), with a locking mechanism (42) for locking the receiving plate (32), and with a stop element, wherein a recess designed as a slotted guide is provided in the base plate (22). The stop element can be inserted with a form fit and/or force fit into and along the slotted guide.

Snowboard boot binding system

width=461
A snowboard binding system having a binding plate (18), the bottom of which is supported on a snowboard (10). The plate (18) includes a circular-opening (36) in its center which receives a disk shaped hold-down plate (30). The hold-down plate (30) may be secured to the snowboard (10) in several different positions on the snowboard (10) with the binding plate (18) assuming any rotational position with respect to the hold-down plate (30). Additionally, a highback support (28) attached at the rear of the binding plate (18) may be rotated along an axis generally normal to the binding plate (18) (and therefore the snowboard (10)) and secured in its rotated position, to enable a rider to transmit forces to the snowboard (10) from a variety of stance positions.
